You no longer have to depend on others or spend all day in an office to earn what you want! All this while being your own boss! The top 10 freelance content writing platforms/websites/apps for Pakistan are listed below along with how much they pay per article.

1) Contena – US $8-15

Contena’s slogan is ‘A better way to work’ which perfectly explains what they are providing to writers around the world. Contena is a Private invite-only platform for serious writers who want to earn more and have a greater chance of doing that.

They pay the highest per article compared to all other platforms in Pakistan, they offer a writer up to $15/article depending on the quality and uniqueness of the content as well as how much research has been done before submitting an article.

2) Textbroker – US $1.3-2

TextBroker is one of the top paying writing sites where you can find gigs easily. It’s not as exclusive as Contena but it pays reasonably well if you are an experienced writer with good command of the English language and a flair for writing.

According to their site, they 1.3$ for 500 words for a 5-star rated writer, 2$ for 1000 words article for a 5-star rated writer.

3) Freelancer – $1-5

Freelancer is a popular online platform where people from all around the world post projects that they need to be completed. This can be anything from writing an article to developing a website.

The pay rate for projects on this site varies greatly, as it depends on what the client is willing to pay. However, most jobs start at around $1 and go up from there depending on the complexity of the project.

4) HireWriters – $3-8

HireWriters is a freelance writing site that connects talented writers with businesses and individuals who need high-quality content. They are one of the best sites to find online writing jobs.

They offer the US $3 for 250 words articles, US $4 for 500 words, and US $6 for 1000+ words articles

5) iWriter – $1-5

iWriter is a very popular company that hires writers in 126 countries. One factor that makes this platform different than others is that they do not allow direct contact between writer and client, which sometimes can be bad news for clients who prefer to give/receive specific instructions about their needs before they start working on an article.

However, if you are ok with writing an article without knowing what it’s actually about you will get paid fairly well! iWriter pays US $2 per 500 words article and up to the US $5 for 1000 words.

6) UpWork – $3-10

UpWork (formerly Elance-Odesk) is a popular freelance platform that has been around since 1995. It connects businesses with freelancers from all over the world who can do a wide range of services, such as writing, programming, design, and more.

According to their website, the average pay rate for most projects on UpWork is about $3-$10 per hour. However, this varies greatly depending on the skillset of the freelancer and the complexity of the project.

7) Guru – $2-20

Guru is a freelance platform that was founded in 1998. It connects businesses with freelancers from around the world who have a wide range of skillsets.

8) Craigslist – $1-5

Freelancing on Craigslist can be a great way to find local business opportunities, such as writing gigs and consulting jobs. To find these gigs, simply look for the “Gigs” section on your local Craigslist page and search for writing or editorial jobs that interest you (e.g., writers Wanted, part-time writer).

9) PeoplePerHour – £20-£45

PeoplePerHour is an online freelance platform with clients from all over the world looking to hire talented professionals through this website. Just like Guru and UpWork, they allow businesses to post projects and freelancers (you!) to apply for them.

According to their website, the pay rate for most projects on PeoplePerHour ranges from £20-£45 per hour. This can vary greatly depending on the skillset of the freelancer and the complexity of the project.

10) Fiverr – $5

Fiverr is a freelance platform where people offer their services (which start at $5) to anyone who is interested in buying them. Services offered on this site include, but are not limited to, writing, design, programming, and more.

As you can see, there is a wide range of pay rates on different freelance platforms. It’s important to do your research and find the one that fits your skill set and interests best! One last thing to keep in mind is that writing gigs don’t pay as well as programming ones, at least not always. Even though the starting rates on different platforms are similar (around $1-$5), most of them offer more for certain skillsets.
